How to use SnipSize

Step-by-step guide to import media, compress images or videos locally, compare quality, and download — all in your browser.

1. Import a file

Drag and drop onto the home dropzone, click Browse files, or paste from the clipboard (Ctrl/Cmd+V). SnipSize detects image vs video automatically.

2. Adjust settings

Images: choose format, quality, and optional resize.
Videos: pick a target size preset or custom MB, and optionally lower resolution.

3. Process locally

Encoding runs in Web Workers / WASM on your machine. Watch progress in the status bar.

4. Compare and download

Use split-view to judge quality, then download. Replace the file anytime to start over.

Troubleshooting

  • Unsupported type: try a common JPEG/PNG/WebP/AVIF or MP4/MOV/WebM file.
  • Video missing duration: re-export the clip or try another container.
  • Use a modern desktop browser with WebAssembly enabled.
